Contemporary American Celtic - new visions

Five prominent North American Celtic artists whose creations collectively have been seen by millions of people the world over, are displaying their works together in Contemporary American Celtic - new visions

Until recently, Celtic art was nearly a lost art, a cultural remnant of Bronze Age warriors and early medieval monks. Today, due to the resurgence of all things Celtic, there are artists on both sides of the Atlantic who have mastered the elements of this ancient art form and are using these elements to express contemporary ideas, while retaining the essence of the style. Contemporary American Celtic highlights some of the foremost illuminators of 21st century Celtic art.

With their uniquely American perspective, artists Cindy Matyi, Steve O’Loughlin, Jen Delyth, Patrick Gallagher and Kelly Kerin employ their Celtic art skills to convey the realities and conundrums of modern life through the indirectness of symbols. Their incorporation of traditional Celtic spirals, knotwork and rich patterns into their art creates visual storytelling unlike any you may have seen before.

Contemporary American Celtic  new visions

With their uniquely American perspective, artists Cindy Matyi, Steve O'Loughlin, Jen Delyth, Kelly Kerin and Patrick Gallagher use their Celtic art skills to reflect spiritual, social and interactive life. Expressing the realities and connundrums of modern life through the indirectness of symbols, these artists somehow "interlace" several thousand years of humanity together in an intuitive way.

Without exception, the reaction to their work has been an unqualified acceptance and sense of wonder.

Contemporary American Celtic will tour several cities including Decatur IL, Cincinnati, Chicago, San Francisco during the years 2007-2008.
