For anyone wishing to delve into this border, Beyond the Ninth Wave is a mystical journey that will be thoroughly enjoyed. This easy to explore interactive DVD showcases Delyth’s gorgeous artwork, interweaving it with traditional and contemporary Celtic music and poetry. The DVD includes nine animated movies that can be viewed together as a feature film or individually as chapters. Within each chapter are not only the movie, but also links to poetry, descriptions of mythological symbols, and notes about the artists pertaining to that chapter. A booklet accompanies the DVD to guide the user in navigation. Delyth’s astounding Celtic artwork is brilliant, colorful and flows gracefully from one image to the next. Accompanying it, Gilli Smith’s haunting voice reminds one of a wise woman of the woods, as she reads the poetry of both ancient and modern Celtic poets, including her own works as well as that of Dylan Thomas, Robert Graves, John and Caitlin Matthews, Hildegard de Bingen, Taliesin, and Fiona Macleod. The DVD also contains an abundance of information explaining the Celtic pantheon and the symbolism of each figure’s aspects. The Ninth Wave is a mystical fluid and ever changing boundary. Perhaps the border of the old country, or the Celtic Otherworld. Or a place between our waking thoughts and the realm of deep remembering.

Beyond the Ninth Wave" is a journey into the Celtic Mysteries. An interactive DVD of visual poetry animation, that weaves ancient folk tales with Celtic art and powerful images of birds, beasts and Otherworldly beings, through animated paintings of ancient symbols and sacred places

The high quality digital translucent layered images and brilliant colors of the animations intertwine with the poetry of ancient and modern Celtic voices. Viewers will be entranced by the inspirational visuals, and evocative music, and can follow their interest in the underlying symbolism with interactive access to over 100 pages of text explaining the background mythology and poetry.

"Beyond the Ninth Wave" is performed by poet Gilli Smyth, inspirational mythic Mother of the 70s folk jazz band Gong, and includes some of her original songs, as well as traditional Celtic poetry.

Ecclectic musician Michael Masley plays the cymbalom, a variant of the hammer dulcimer, accompanied by esoteric percussion instruments.

Silver Arm continues its ten year tradition of performing traditional Celtic Music with enthusiasm
and respect for the spirit of this centuries old art form.

Aryeh Frankfurter Celtic/folk harper, violinist - multi-instrumentalist

The short films are richly layered, and feature Celtic artwork and film by Welsh artist Jen Delyth. Animated layered images paint themes from within the heart of Celtic mythology, illustrating the Celtic poetry that is brought alive by the music.

As a DVD "Beyond the Ninth Wave" can be played on home TV's with DVD players, and also many computers come standard these days with DVD players for desktop viewing. Our first release is NTSC only, however, 95% of European DVD players can play NTSC titles, by automatically converting the signal into PAL. This is an ALL REGIONS playable DVD.

DVD's allow for basic interactivity - and "Beyond the Ninth Wave" uses this to give the viewer navigational interactivity throughout its unique "story book" layout.
